Carlos Fausto

Carlos Fausto is Professor of Anthropology at the Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. He is the author, among others, of Warfare and Shamanism in Amazonia (Cambridge, 2012) and Art Effects: Image, Agency and Ritual in Amazonia (Nebraska, 2020). From 2021 to 2024, he served as Global Scholar at Princeton University. Most recently, he was a visiting professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (2025).
