Sampurna Das

Sampurna Das is an Assistant Professor at the School of Development, Azim Premji University, India. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Delhi and focuses her research on the intersections of political ecology, gender studies, and state-society relations. Her work is specifically situated within the precarious riverine and floodplain landscapes of northeastern India. At Azim Premji University, she teaches courses on social institutions, the everyday state, water and development, and kinship and marriage.
