Karen Shiratori is an anthropologist and curator. She is currently a Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral researcher at the University of Barcelona. She was part of the ECO project (University of Coimbra, Portugal), funded by the European Research Council. She is an affiliated researcher at CEstA – Center for Amerindian Studies (São Paulo, Brazil); at PALOC – Local Heritage, Environment and Globalization (Paris, France); and at CINAF – Research Group on Indigenous and Afro-American Peoples (Barcelona, Spain). She is co-editor and one of the authors of the book Vozes Vegetais: diversidade, resistência e histórias da floresta (2021), translated into French in 2024. She was a fellow of the EMKP – Endangered Material Knowledge Programme at the British Museum in 2022. She was one of the curators of the exhibition Bifurcaciones Vegetales, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo, an activity linked to the France–Brazil Season 2025.

Karen Shiratori es antropóloga y curadora. Actualmente es investigadora posdoctoral Beatriu de Pinós en la Universidad de Barcelona. Formó parte del proyecto ECO (Universidad de Coímbra, Portugal), financiado por el European Research Council. Es investigadora asociada al CEstA – Centro de Estudos Ameríndios (São Paulo, Brasil); al PALOC – Patrimoines locaux, environnement et globalisation (París, Francia); y al CINAF – Grupo de Estudios con Pueblos Indígenas y Afroamericanos (Barcelona, España). Es coeditora y una de las autoras del libro Voces Vegetales: diversidad, resistencia e historias del bosque (2021), traducido al francés en 2024. Fue becaria del EMKP – Endangered Material Knowledge Programme, del British Museum (2022). Fue una de las curadoras de la exposición Bifurcaciones Vegetales, en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de la Universidad de São Paulo, actividad vinculada a la Saison Francia–Brasil 2025.
